A Midland 9/11 victim predicted his own death in a dream two days before the atrocity.

Father-of-one Andrew Bailey, 29, woke up screaming on September 9 and told his fiancée, Miosotys that he had seen the Grim Reaper in a nightmare.

Two days later the security supervisor, originally from Solihull, was among 3,000 people killed when terrorists flew hijacked planes into the World Trade Centre in New York.

“Andrew always told me he would die before he was 30,’’ said Miosotys.

For Miosotys the events leading up to that day are still clear in her mind.

'Andrew had swapped his shift to start at 7am instead of 8am and left before me that morning. I still remember the details very clearly. I watched him iron his clothes and he looked over and told me he loved me. I felt the same way, too. Then he said ‘You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.’ I looked into his eyes and said those words back to him. He cupped my face with his hands and said ‘Call me when you get into work.'

With almost 3,000 dead, finding Andrew’s remains took months – during which time Miosotys refused to accept he was really dead. Just a few days later she was asked to find personal items belonging to Andrew which would contain his DNA and was shocked when she opened his cupboard.

“All of his things were laid out in there, his wallet, credit cards, and watch – items he would normally have taken with him to work. It was as if he knew he was leaving me that morning and never coming back.”

Six months later she received confirmation that Andrew had, in fact, perished.
