The Nightmare Of The Countess Toutschkov

The story that unfolds in 1812, when Napoleon's troops are fighting in Russia. The wife of Count Toutschkov, a Russian General, had a dream terrifying.

In this dream, she described in detail to her husband after having dreamed two times she was in a room at the inn somewhere in a city she did not know. His father entered the room, holding the hand of the young son of the Countess. The mysterious appearance taught him terrible news, her husband had just been killed: "He fell! He fell at Borodino!" The countess and her husband decided to examine the cards, but could not find the name of Borodino. On 7 September 1812, Russian troops determined to face the French. It was in a small village called Borodino, about 110 km from Moscow. The Countess, her husband (then commander of the reserve troops of the Russian Army) and the rest of his family had been housed in a small inn situated a few kilometers from the battlefield. The next morning, the father of the Countess entered her room, taking his young son by the hand. "He fell, he said. He fell at Borodino." Premonition she had had three times had proved true.
